Workplace massage is an important part of the Healthy Body pillar of our Workplace Wellbeing Program.

Employees who have received workplace massages report feeling happier and less stressed. Good evidence exists to support the benefits of workplace massages as a tool to reduce stress and improve staff wellbeing.

Our workplace massages are provided by longtime UNSW staff member, and proffesional massage therapist, Lara Cassar, who has provided massages for UNSW Built Environment, Rural Clinical Schools, Shalom College, Arc and of course UNSW Safety and Wellbeing.

Lara has provided massages at events including R U OK? Day, Kindness Month and the Safety and Wellbeing Celebration.

Lara's massage services have also been enjoyed by staff and students from the Kirby Institute, Lowy Cancer Research Centre, Division of Finance & Ops, Engineering, Business School, Law, Optometry and Engineering.

For information on research which has been conducted on the benefits of workplace massage, see this PhD thesis and this journal article which found that strain and blood pressure were significantly reduced as a result of massage.
