Digital Accessible Communications

This workshop builds confidence in the development and creation of accessible communications. Building capacity to support the development and creation of accessible communications will ensure that your message is available to the widest potential audience. This session will provide ideas and practical tips to assist participants to develop inclusive and accessible communications for both an internal and external audience. The session is open to all UNSW students and staff.

By the completion of the session, participants will:
  • Understand the value of creating accessible communications.
  • Know more about online/digital accessibility requirements. 
  • Have greater understanding of the impact of representation. 
  • Have practical information on how to develop accessible content using the MS Office suite of tools. 
  • Know where to find further information.

  • Captioning / transcripts
  • Colour contrast
  • Social media
  • MS Word documents

Please note that due to the interactive, confidential nature of in-person training sessions, recordings are not available. 

Accessibility

All in-person training sessions will be held in wheelchair and lift accessible CATS rooms at UNSW Sydney Kensington campus (if not otherwise specified).

  • Facilitators and panellists will speak using lapel or wireless hand-held microphones
  • Online training will have closed captioning enabled and transcripts can be provided upon request
  • PowerPoint slides can be provided in advance of the training upone request
  • Please indicate any further accessibility requirements in the registration form

This session will be held on Friday 29 September, from 10am-12pm. The session will be held in person at UNSW Sydney Kensington campus, with a venue to be confirmed closer to the date.
